About Us
Founded in 1926, the Burton Fire Department has proudly served the Village of Burton and surrounding communities for nearly a century. What began as a small volunteer effort has grown into a modern fire and rescue service dedicated to protecting life, property, and the environment.
Our service area includes the Village of Burton, Burton Township, Portions of Claridon Township and provides mutual aid to neighboring departments across Geauga County and beyond.
We offer a wide range of emergency services, including:
- Fire Suppression
- Emergency Medical Services (ALS,BLS)
- Vehicle Rescue & Extrication
- Hazardous Materials Response (Hazmat Ops and tech Levels)
- Search & Rescue
- Fire Prevention & Public Education
Our team is made up of Full-time and Part-time staff, all of whom are trained to state and national standards. Burton Fire Department staffs 3 Firefighters 24/7. We are committed to continuous improvement through training, community engagement, and partnerships that help us meet the evolving needs of our region.
